Yes, the thermometer and hydrometer are calibrated.
They are eating Kalmbach layer crumbles mixed with Kalmbach flock raiser crumbles.
The are all between 9-12 months old.
Hello all,
So I am not new to incubating eggs, but I am new to MGB and OEGB. My daughter and I are trying to hatch out her MGB and OEGB eggs, and they develop well, then die somewhere between week one and two.
I am using a Hovabator with a fan and an automatic egg turner (the upright kind)...
They look like blacks (though they are all black instead of black and yellow), blues, and the one splash is lighter than lavender and is starting to get one darker feather.
Hello Fellow Chicken Friends!
Has anyone tried to put the Omlet Automatic Door on the Omlet Go Up? The shape isn't quite right (the door of the Go Up), but I'm wondering if someone here was able to get creative. Thank you in advance! :-)
Hi there! I have ordered from them. They are fabulous to work with! This time of year there are less chicks and less options. Come spring, there will be many more. You'll be good to go. :)
Update!
I got 26 eggs from one person. Out of those, 17 hatched. 68% hatch rate
I got 13 eggs from another person. 7 of those hatched. 54% hatch rate
I got 12 eggs from a third person. 10 of those hatched. 83% hatch rate.
Overall, I’m very happy with the outcome! 😊❤️🐓
It’s supposed to go on 5 minutes before the door closes. I actually have two, and they’re doing the same thing. And the lights do work - I tested them this morning.
Hello! I have the Omlet cube with the auto door and coop light. Everything is hooked up correctly. The light works. I have nightlight set to “Y”. Why isn’t the light coming on before the door closes? Any tips are appreciated! 😊🐓
Hello!
I’m hatching out eggs Bantam Cochin eggs, and some that I have some that are supposed to be lemon blue. Two just hatched out, and one looks black, and one looks lavender. Does anyone have pictures of what lemon blue Bantam Cochin chicks look like? Thank you! 😊
Here’s my crew!! First time hatching shipped eggs. There were 26 to start. Four ended up yolkers. One was a quitter. I hatched out 17 Bantam Cochins with four still in the incubator (though no pips, so maybe have died.) I’ll keep them in a few more days just in case. 😊❤️🐓
So what I did was set them bottom end up and let them "settle" for a couple of hours (to get them room temp), then into the incubator they went! I set them bottom end up in plastic egg crates and tilted them back and forth to turn them. I had a few with detached air sacs, but by the time...
It has started!!! I’m up to six now!!! 🥰
They are sorted into heritage bags (that’s the yellow mesh) so I can keep them straight and band the ones I need to.
Thank you! How tall was the HWC you used? I think I need to use 3' around the run in front and 2' around where the coop is (since the wiring is way lower there.) Or do I put 2' all around?
Hello!
I'm going to add hardware cloth to my Omlet run. Since the run itself isn't very tall, how tall should the hardware cloth be? Is 2' tall enough? Or should it be 3'? Thank you in advance! :)
Hello, I'm looking to add a couple of Omlet coops and runs for small projects. I'm located in Northern California and am willing to travel a bit. If you have something or know of something, please let me know. Thank you in advance! :)
