    pullet resting/walking on hocks only

still giving vitamin and baby aspirin. no marked improvement. i poked around and found a bunch of assessment info.... her "head tracking" reflex is normal, vent reflex is normal, perching reflex is absent. i think she may have developed "kinky back" as a result of a fall of the roost bar. i...

    pullet resting/walking on hocks only

Started giving b complex yesterday. Her hocks look equal. Never inspected them closely before so not sure if swollen. I few people have told me that this looks like Mareks but she was vaxxed as a chick and none of my other birds seem sick.

    Injured RI red

Website say 16% protein for the feed. I am assuming they get a little extra from their free range time and the scratch/treats. The birds have almost 10 linear feet of roosting bar space. (They also have 3 13”x13” nesting boxes, coop is 4’x6’ and run is 8’x10” with a couple plastic mirrors and a...

    Injured RI red

Blue seal extra egg layer pellets from my local agway . They also free range for a few hours a day. They get scratch to lure them back into their run. They get a splash of ACV added to their water a couple times per week.

    Injured RI red

One of my ladies has a bare bottom. Been like this for a couple months. She is also laying under developed eggs (soft or broken shell). I have tried wound spray to no avail. She was put in isolation for a week with no improvement. There is no sign of mites. No sign of illness. The rest of my...

Integration question - two chicks, two adults

Cool thread. I lost a hen to the neighbors dog the other day and was planning to add 2 pullets to the 4 hens I have left. I was going to keep the pullets in a wire dog crate in the run with their own food/water for a while. This thread makes me think my plan might work. Please chime in if I’m...
