    Its a... Girl? (Brahma)

I've hesitated posting because I (99%) think I have a girl... Her brother was clearly male before 10 weeks old with brown shoulders and a lovely comb. Now that this one is 10 months old and not laid an egg I'm not so sure. Do I have a girl (and an impatient egg checking habit)?

    Marek's?

My only real option is private breeder as I don't have any large hatcheries for quite some distance near me. The other plan was ex batts as I know they'll be vaccinated

    Marek's?

No, never completely lame just withered away and fould dead in the coop overnight, pretty quickly from onset too. All older than 5 months: about 10m 14m and now this little honey. All different breeds, but all from the same breeder. The first one had diarrhoea but the other two have just had...

    Marek's?

I know, and her tiny little cheep is so cute. No it doesn't seem like it, it seems both legs and not wings at all. Was just trying to find you a video of the first one but it's on my old (destroyed) phone unfortunately. Vet gave antibiotics and chicken paracetamol, I did the "feed egg...

    Marek's?

The chickens in the past had the same symptoms, wobbly legs, but were really withdrawn, weak combs and didn't even try to move around with the flock.

    Marek's?

She didn't loose much as she isn't a massive bird anyway, but she seemed absolutely fine through moult and weeks after. No, no smell of mould, and use straw, the expensive one branded for chickens specifically rather than the cheap horse advertised one (though I'm sure there's not much...

    Marek's?

That makes sense, thanks for taking the time to explain. No, but we did have a very cold snap about 2 weeks ago, she was in moult about 6 weeks ago (all re feathered now). No mould, food is fresh every 3 days and they have really good ventilation in the coop. The last ones I lost were earlier...

    Marek's?

Frizzle hen, 18 months old. Only one in flock that has been ill recently but third to have the same thing... She's uncoordinated, not "ill" from it, still eating and drinking fine, just can't get up her bars anymore. Wobbliness only started 3-4 days ago, every day I let them out I think I'll...

    Young Brahma sexing

Hi all, I have 2 Brahma chicks from the same hatch. I can't guarantee direct siblings as there's multiple roos running with a big flock, not in breeding pens at the moment. However! These 2 hatches 2 hours apart - theyre now about 7.5 weeks old - and I've got an inkling that I have one of each...

Not moving around hen - egg bound?

Possibly. She's really not walking well, I suppose that would come with it. Here she is keeping me company while i tidy up the garden sat on a dandelion trying her best to eat!

Not moving around hen - egg bound?

Hiya, thanks. She only passed one lash egg, and no eggs since. Taken her to the vet another 2 times since, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday she had a fever and the vet gave "antipyretic" (a Tylenol or paracetamol shot) and an antibiotic which was repeated on Friday. Started a dewormer (flubenvet)...
