Congratulations to all the winners and great job Judges! I would have been hard pressed to come up with the winners because so many adorable baby pics!
Hi! I'm in the US. West Virginia to be more exact. Born in 1966. And I followed Brinsea on Facebook AND signed up for their newsletter! I'm sorry I neglected to reply to the thread with this info previously...
Sharon is looking so good now! :weeThank you @Wyorp Rock & @Eggcessive ! Just one more day of Tylosin. I'm thinking just one more day of the antibiotic ointment too...What do you think?
Check out these pics:
Thank you...I'm glad too! I don't give them layer feed, but they always have oyster shell or their own egg shells available al la carte. (I have 2 roosters and understood they shouldn't have the extra calcium?)
@Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive I noted something that may or not be odd. Sharon is ravenous for eggshells all of a sudden. I figured she might want some since she's still giving me an egg 2 out of the 3 days I've been isolating her. I crushed up 2 full shells and she ate them like it was the best treat...
This morning is day 3 of antibiotic ointment and Tylosin. She is holding her eye open all the time now and the swelling is going down except for a small area in the posterior area around her eye (Frankly, Iforgot to look at the top of her head to see how much swellinghas gone down. I'll be sure...
I was able to tease out what appeared to be a small feather shaft that was growing weird. I have been rinsing and putting ointment in 2 times. I'll continue that. Should that be 5 days like the Tylosin?
She is holding the eye open more now. And I did start Tylosin this morning. I'll keep that up...
Thank you for your reply. No I have not introduced any new birds, however there are a lot of wild birds that always around the run and yard near them.
I don't see any mucus anywhere, and as far as bubbles, I don't think so, her eye is watery though. Bullying and pecking, not so much. She's a...
Hi Everyone,
My best buddy bird, Sharon has a swollen left eye this afternoon.
She is a Whiting True Blue, turned 2 years in March, weight is normal.
Her eye is swollen, I noticed this morning. It wasn't there yesterday. I saw her rub it on her shoulder once like to itch it. She can open it all...
I came here looking for WV folks too (about a year ago) I live-in the Eastern Panhandle near Harper's Ferry, so quite a ways away from you, but Welcome! This might not be the best thread for us, but it's definitely the best website for all things Backyard Chickens!
Early Spring Treat...Spring mixed greens, broccoli, apple, cherry tomatoes, scrambled egg and Greek yogurt, Brazil nuts chopped fine, and a little shredded cheese on top!
It has definitely learned its lesson in this case! I was kind of shocked, and then realized I couldn't leave it there. My fear was; would pulling it through the rest of the way rip it in half or not? Thankfully not😁
