I found that they prefer my own home-made chick starter, soaked. He is also eating bugs, yesterday swallowed an entire grasshopper by himself! He survived ... the grasshopper did not.
Just tried a tiny sprinkle of nutritional yeast on the chick starter and the chick seemed to like it - better than the egg anyway. Is that OK for him / her?
Just bought the chick feed and it's been here for less than a week. Thanks for response, I'll try to relax. At least he appears very energetic. Such a tiny little chick even for 11 days. Seems like he's hardly grown.

They were not impressed with the soaked starter .... made no difference. Mother went into cage to dry starter as if to say 'Ha, that is the same stuff, I'm not interested!' If mama won't eat it then bubba won't also. It's difficult.
Hmmm they barely ate any chick starter all day and were very hungry by tonight, especially the chick, but STILL didn't go for the chick starter. I sure as heck hope they eat tomorrow morning. How long should I wait of them not eating before becoming concerned about starvation (for chick, not...
Thank you so much for your help. As of this morning I offered the mother and chick only starter but they weren't interested. So I tried oats and they did eat some. I checked the chick's crop, seemed empty, and he had patches of fur missing from his neck. Will follow your guidelines from now on...
I have mother hen and one chick together however the chick only eats what the mother eats so she has been eating mashed banana, mango, layer mash, millet, sardine, lettuce, sweet potato, bug mix. I offer her organic chick starter but she only eats what mama eats. What to do? Should I only feed...
