    Duckling breed?

Thanks so much! First time with ducks but I’m learning quickly! Don’t worry, I’m prepared for the mess😉

    Duckling breed?

Not the best at figuring out how to post a video, but I think I did it? Anyway, the duck in question is the one making all the noise!

    Duckling breed?

Could anyone confirm my thought on this duckling being a Golden cascade? If so, male or female? It’s awfully chatty! Got a TSC on February 21,2024.

    Coccidiosis or something else?!

I’ve never dewormed, they are 16 and 13 weeks. No one is laying yet. They have ACV in their water now too. Should I empty it and just do the Corid? Did a water test overnight, attached the pic below

    Coccidiosis or something else?!

Noticed a poop similar to this in the run when I cleaned this morning. Been trying to watch everyone poop but have only seen a couple of them do it and all their poops were normal. Still don’t know who it is, but I found this one on my way back in after putting the girls back up from free...

Integrating the girls and free ranging?

Yes! They have a full run, and then the free ranging is in a fenced in back yard. I’m not concerned about the free ranging part so much as letting the “littles and bigs” out together while we are trying to integrate them. Make sense? I stay out with them while they are free ranging but I just...

Integrating the girls and free ranging?

They are 11 weeks(6 of them) and 8 weeks(2 of them). It’s in the 70s/80s day and 50s/60s at night.

Integrating the girls and free ranging?

Hello! So I have 6, 11 week old pullets and 2, 8 week olds. This weekend we put the “littles” in a makeshift holding pen inside the run. I allow my “bigs” to free range a few hours a day at different times. My question is, can I let the littles out to free range as well, or should I wait a...

Is lichen ok for chickens to eat?

Thank you! It’s the grey/green one and they have a blast pecking it off and parading it around before they eat it! Poops all seem normal so far so I was assuming that it was ok.

Is lichen ok for chickens to eat?

I put the wooden roof off of my son’s old playhouse on the ground for my girls to run under while they are out free ranging. The chickens love running up and down the a-frame and eating the lichen off of it. Any reason I should not let them eat this? They seem to really love it. TIA

    Scared to even ask!

The rust color isn’t splotchy, it’s pretty even on both sides as far as placement. She just has a lot more of it than the rest of the Easter eggers. They all look very different!

    Scared to even ask!

Phew! Thanks you guys! I feel like every time some one has to ask, the response is always cockerel so I was definitely nervous to ask😅

    Scared to even ask!

Oh thank goodness! The first one is my son’s favorite and we can’t have roosters, so that’s a relief.

    Scared to even ask!

When do combs start turning pink on Easter eggers?! Please tell me these 2 “girls” are in fact, pullets. First 3 pics are bird 1, last 2 pics are bird 2.

Moved 8 week olds to the coop

Thanks for the info/advice! They are definitely showing their personalities already. I kept red string lights in their indoor brooder above their roosts, and I have a red solar light hanging above their roosts so I was hoping that familiarity would register that that’s where they go to sleep...

Moved 8 week olds to the coop

Just inside the coop for the night. They have been out in the run a lot before we moved them into the coop permanently yesterday.
