    Turkey egg fertility question

Today we swapped turkey toms with another farmer since we both wanted new bloodlines for our flock. When do you think my hens will begin laying the new toms eggs? I've heard it can be a month but I'm not 100% sure on that. Thanks for any answers :)

    Herniated Umbilical?

Unfortunately they did not make it, they had a lot of other issues as well and it just didn't end well :(. Two others survived from that hatch however and they seem to be doing well so thats good at least. Thank you for the advice in case this happens again

    Herniated Umbilical?

I have two turkey poults who hatched last night and today, I'm worried they both have herniated umbilical as I've read up on that a bit, but this is my first time experiencing it. I'm not sure why both would have it, since all of my other hatches this month have been really good. Two weeks ago I...

HELP fire in incubator and brooder room, filled with smoke

Hey, thank you for your response. I am very lucky I was home! I keep thinking about what would've happened if I was gone. We just bought a heating plate last week to try out and so far I'm loving it! After the fire I went out quickly to try and find another heat source and decided to just spend...

HELP fire in incubator and brooder room, filled with smoke

Woah I didn't know any of this! I agree, they absolutely need to come with warnings and guides...Thank you so much for clearing this up, you helped a lot today and I appreciate it very much. I might try heating lamps again in the future because of you :)

HELP fire in incubator and brooder room, filled with smoke

So my dad came home and he said that it was because I took it from outside and didn't warm it up or let it dry...I feel terrible about it, I wish I had called him and asked what to do but I thought I was good.

Thank you for the luck and message and yeah its been a very crazy couple of hours lol. I'm very glad that your girls were okay! I think I'll move to heating tables/brooders now...I got one for another batch of chicks a week ago and it seems to work well. Knowing you had a similar experience...

HELP fire in incubator and brooder room, filled with smoke

Thank you so much! I have not moved the incubator, wasn't sure if the eggs would be fine with no heat...I will do what you said right now though! Thankfully it seems like the chicks will make it, since they're chirping and hopping around!

HELP fire in incubator and brooder room, filled with smoke

I'm new, so I'm hoping I posted this in the right forum. A couple of hours ago our heat lamp caught on fire and exploded, over our 4 newborn chicks. One died, but the other three appear to be fine. I put the fire out as quickly as I could but there was a ton of smoke. I took the chicks out of...
