Help! Need some duck in splints advice

I wonder if you could use a pool noodle to make a duck sized inner tube to help her float in the pool.

Help! Need some duck in splints advice

I'm definitely not an expert, but I have a duck with similar issues, so thought I'd share what we have been doing. Our male Pekin, Quacks (he came with the name lol), has an issue with one of his legs where it's not strong enough to support him so it ends up sticking far out to the side when he...

    Blue Swedish?

Meet Emily. We love Emily, but I ordered a Blue Swedish pair and am not sure if she actually is a Swedish, or something else. Her down was definitely dark brown instead of the grayish brown color of the male, and she looks like a more brownish blue color now that her feathers are in. They're my...

    Any ideas what he/she is?

I got this chick on May 17 when it was a day or two old. I knew it was a mixed breed when I got it, but it was supposed to be from either a d'Uccle x Serama pairing, or a d'Uccle x Ameraucana bantam pairing. Clearly, that's not correct. It only has four toes and didn't appear to have a crest...

    Coccidia treament

I hadn't seen info for a poultry specific product, only Corid, so thank you. For the time being I've had to just get medicated feed since the stores in my area only had Corid, and they were all expired. I'll definitely order some of the liquid online for future use though.

    Coccidia treament

The dosing I do not. Where did you get your dosing from? The information I found is only 1 tsp per 5 gallons for chicks.

    Coccidia treament

No blood. I'm not sure about fluffing, do you mean when they fluff out their feathers when they're sick? If so, no.

    Coccidia treament

I got 5 chicks from a local breeder two weeks ago. 2 died less than a week after I got them, on the same day. I contacted the breeder to let her know and she replaced my deceased chicks and gave me an extra. I picked up the new chicks 3 days ago. 1 died about 24 hours later, the other died...

    OEG Bantam Color?

I picked these 5 up from my local TSC. Based on the hatcheries my TSC gets their chicks from, I'm pretty sure they're OEG Bantams. 2 are Silver Duckwing pullets, 2 are Crele cockerels, (at least to my reckoning, I'm new to chicken genetics, so please correct me if I'm wrong), and I'm not sure...

Review by 'redpandakitty' in article 'Chicken Treats - What and What Not to Feed Your Feather Babies'

The information presented is too general. Typically when people are looking for what is ok to feed an animal, saying that if it's in your garden, it's probably is ok is not very helpful, especially since there are some things grown in gardens that are definitely NOT ok for chickens (or other...

Will this ever work? Two roosters - five hens

At one point I had 3 roos (well, 2 roos & 1 hen that went through a sex reversal) & only 4 hens & had no issues. They were all raised together and 1 roo & the pseudoroo were Orpingtons, which are a fairly docile breed. My Brahma roo was definitely the dominant one (he was definitely NOT docile)...

    Which breeds to keep together?

If anyone likes logic puzzles, I have one for you! Hoping to get some input on the best way to separate my current flock, as well as the chickens I'll be adding in a few months. I have half an acre for them & most breeds are only 1 or 2 birds since they're just pets & I wanted a variety. I can...
