Definitely hamming it up to the camera. The other girls were less impressed that I was trying to snap a photo. :D

    First egg vs. 3rd egg

I thought for sure they'd start when I was on vacation, so I was super excited to see I was wrong! I stalk them now to see if I can catch any other girls laying. One other gal has started since I started this post. :D

    First egg vs. 3rd egg

She’s a crested cream legbar (but I think she’s a mix). She’s much smaller than her 3 other CCL sisters that I got at the same time. How old are your pullets? My gals just hit 22 weeks.

    First egg vs. 3rd egg

My smallest chicken has become our first layer of our flock. We’ve had these gals since March and she has given me 3 eggs since august 14th. I thought it was fun seeing her first smaller egg versus her egg I got from her today. 😁 we had a second gal lay today for the first time, but our littlest...

New chicken mama - can these gals move outside?

I moved mine out later than 3 weeks, but if it helps, the nights dipped into the mid to high 40s for the first week they were outside. They did perfectly fine.

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Wanted 3 originally but then chicken math happened to account for potential losses so we went with 6. And we currently have 6 seemingly healthy 7ish week olds. 2 Bielefelders, cream legbars and some “crosses” according to the farm I got them from. 😁

Brand new Keeper of Tiny Dinos here

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am brand new to chickens! I got my 1 week old babies about 5-6 weeks ago. (2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 6 little ladies! (3) What breeds do you have? We were told we got a mixture of legbars, bielefelders...

New chicken mama - can these gals move outside?

I have 6 chicks that around estimated to be about 6-7 weeks old. They've had some field trips on warmer days, but we're hitting a slightly lower cold patch again at night. Do they look like they can be moved out already without heat? They are large and obviously outgrowing out two box brooder...
