    That’s what we’re counting on! 🤞🏻

    Pink Comb on Buff Orpingtons

Here’s an updated photo on one of my Buffs. Still not entirely sure? I can’t find any pointy or “waterfall” type feathers like I’ve seen in photos online? But she’s darker than the other one just slightly. And I wasn’t sure about the feathers wrapping around the tail? Thoughts? 17.5 weeks no...

Barred Rock and EE 11 (going on 12) weeks…hen or roo?

Here’s an updated photo of the BR in question. 17.5 weeks now. Still big but I can’t find any “waterfall” or pointy feathers on her??

Barred Rock and EE 11 (going on 12) weeks…hen or roo?

She’s/he’s a really hard one to catch. I will have to try later. If it helps at all this is a zoomed in shot?

Here’s some more of the bigger BR of the two.

Barred Rock and EE 11 (going on 12) weeks…hen or roo?

Time for my bi-weekly worry that I’m not sure if I have pullets or cockerels. This time it’s my barred rocks and my still suspicious Ameraucana/EE/Whatever. My one barred rock is just so much bigger than the other but to my untrained eyes, I feel like they are the same bar pattern and should...

    Pink Comb on Buff Orpingtons

They all still mostly look the same and there hasn’t been any crowing yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They are 10 weeks now.

    Boys or Girls?

These are all 8-9 weeks. Didn’t know everyone’s best guesses on these. The tails are throwing me. No huge combs or real rooster behavior. Welsummers and Ameraucana/EE’s All in all just curious.

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

I absolutely didn’t mean to start an argument! I was just curious about my girls since I couldn’t match that first one. We love our girls regardless. I can only have so many hens in city limits so I am really hoping that A) they are girls and B) that they lay blue eggs since they are my only two...

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

So good to know! She definitely has greenish legs and her little cheeks are getting more feathery by the day. We pray all the time that Sunshine (she was a light yellow chick and my five year old dubbed her as such) is a girl. 😂

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

Yes, they are. She’s a cutie, and my daughters favorite. Well Darn, I feel so stupid now. It’s a little embarrassing. I hope we get the blue eggs we were hoping for. Thanks tho!

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

Should I assume my other one isn’t an Ameraucana either? She looks exactly like a splash should from what I’ve seen online. And definitely had the chipmunk cheeks.

    Well that stinks. Thanks everyone!

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

Absolutely not arguing because I’m still so new to the game and don’t know everything. But this is what the page we ordered from says concerning their Ameraucanas?

What kind of Ameraucana do I have?

Got them from McMurrays who have certified Ameraucanas so I feel pretty confident of their breed. They have chubby cheeks too. But they just give a random color chick at McMurrays so I’ve had to research what I got. This one I can not figure out what coloring she has? One was a splash and I...

    Pink Comb on Buff Orpingtons

Five week old Buff Orpingtons are showing some pink on their beaks. Am I to expect crowing? Didn’t know when they started developing combs? They were vent sexed by the hatchery but I don’t know how reliable that is. I’m just so worried I ended up with all roosters.

    Sexing Welsummer and Ameraucanas

Hi! So I’m brand new to this and I’m curious about a few of my chicks. My Welsummer chicks had all of the very clear markers for females as little ones but now they are older, I’m thrown off by the size of their tail feathers. They are six weeks and from what I can tell they have salmon colored...
