    Does lavender commonly have Melanotic?

So like a black bird would likely have Charcoal and Melanotic genes to help keep it black. Would lavender normally have those same genes since lavender is split to black commonly.

I've heard many mixed answers about Lavender Ameraucanas if they do or don't have Melanotic.. Does anyone have a more clear answer?

I actually meant quail pattern in chickens. It has to do with melanotic and Columbian but I'm not super sure. Still trying to learn.

Can so some explain quail pattern to me?

I've been trying to research quail pattern and how to achieve it. I've been a bit curious playing with the calculator. I've found that MI and Cha play a part but I haven't yet figured it out. What does it look like? Color on top and white underside?

    Want to buy roosters

Oh what a shame you are so far from me..I have 2 young males that need a home. Ermine Ameraucanas. They are beautiful and will make pretty chicks. So far they have been pretty mellow with my daughter and I. They carry the blue egg gene, being Ameraucanas.

Very pretty birds. That rooster sure is interesting. Definitely not a true Delaware but has the Delaware traits.

    Jumbo Coturnix won't open eyes

I checked the chick with the eye problem and it still has it. It won't open 1 eye on its own and only opens the one eye sometimes. I'm going to try the water and Nutridrench periodically and hope that helps it come around. I do not know if it is eating crumbles on it's own.

    I’m thinking I didn’t get what was listed…

Send me pictures of your Ameraucana too just because I'm interested lol white with brownish wings. Is it Wheaten Ameraucana? Delawares are wheaten base and having a dominant white parent would make it heterozygous dominant white. Dominant white doesn't color over any red. The red color will stay...

    I’m thinking I didn’t get what was listed…

I'm pretty interested in this guy as I was just asking questions about putting a Delaware hen under a dominant white Ameraucana. So likely this very bird is similar to what the males would look like from such a cross color wise. Can you post more pictures of his tail, saddle feathers and...

    Jumbo Coturnix won't open eyes

I had 30. I don't have a heat lamp. They were coming and going out from the heater, eating and drinking. I was so busy this morning so far I haven't had time to directly check that chick. I had to take 10 to their new home, I have baby chicks arriving from the post office today, cleaning out and...
