Egg Eating Troubles: Are Roll-Away Nesting Boxes the Solution?

    How much food per chicken?

I don't usually calculate per day. I more do it by the week. I have 20 laying hens, and I go through 40lbs a week. I do ferment some of it so they eat a little less than if I just free feed them.

How clean do eggs have to be to waterglass?

I am trying to start water glassing some of my eggs. Online it says to use only clean eggs, but I almost never get perfectly clean ones. Most of my eggs have at least a tiny smudge of dirt or a tiny bit of calcium on them. How clean do they have to be to safely waterglass?
