The news I expected, I may have some more pictures of others in the coming days the hatch was over several days so im waiting for them all to reach a good age
Thanks y’all ♥️ stay safe.
Why shouldn’t I be feeding medicated, it’s specifically for quail ? It says on the bag “ Quail starter 29% protein, medicated.
Do not feed 3 weeks before eggs, transfer to grower feed at this time”
Thank you, but it says on the bag of feed I’m giving them I should take it out of their diet at 3-4 weeks as it’s medicated so it won’t transfer into the eggs.Thats when I’m to move them onto grower feed? It’s confusing because they grow so quickly!!!
You seem to be doing everything else well, green poop is a sign of not eating, but if she’s eating again that’s good, personally I’d keep her isolated until she’s more mobile and back to her usual self.
If you have some cracked corn around that’d be good because they go nuts for it and it keeps...
I’ve obviously got a few runts, this photo was taken just before cleaning and I’d started taking out the feeder I do make sure they’ve got two, I’ll guess I will just see how they get on really, make sure she and the other smaller ones don’t get trampled
Just because they look fine, doesn’t mean they are, Chickens hide ailments VERY WELL and they might have stronger immune systems then this girl.
• can I have a picture of her
•Worm the Whole flock
•Has the feed changed recently
•what are you feeding her on
• what %protein and calcium levels...

Just an update for @Nabiki and @007Sean I went with my gut and I let the incubator do its thing and I trusted what it was telling me, I did 45% humidity and 60%in lock down, out of the 54 eggs 49 hatched 3 were infertile 1 died during hatching and 1 died just before lockdown (want at the right...
Edit: the same nests have been used in all the different flocks I have and never had an issue, my parents used them before me and they can’t remember ever having hens do this.
Yes, the hens in the Breeding group are doing this.
I’ve never in my life had an issue with these nesting boxes and nor have my parents so perhaps I will just lock them in the nest box till they are laid, I haven’t been able to to do this through because of work, so we’ll just wait and see.
