    Incubator off for 6-9 hours, will the eggs be ok? They’ve been incubating for a month at least

    My grandson turned mine off, my daughter n law caught it and turned it back on, I guess he snuck over and turned it off again, when I checked it was off for about 24 hours, I had just five days left so I just let it run out, I had a really good hatch.

    If you have commercial growers in your area you could possibly get eggs from a breeder farm, they are not supposed to give away or sell eggs other than the co they are contracted with but some do.

    I don’t, but would love to learn how. Capons used to be a thing, our county fair even had a capon show category, my brother showed them. They grow so fast and get really big. I bet it would work really good with dual purpose heritage cockerel’s.

    Time will tell, like growing dual purpose birds, I can give the pullets to whoever keeps me supplied with eggs, and I can process the cockerels. The ones I raised were free ranging for a while and I didn’t put the feed to them like I would if I wanted to grow them out fast.

    How many eggs do you want to hatch at a time? How much do you want to spend? I have two nurture right 360 incubators and one maticoopx 30, I have done well with these. NR holds 22 chicken eggs and the maticoopx holds 30. The NR were a little more expensive but all are affordable.

    Brown leghorn roosters are beautiful, my brother had an abundance of them and I butchered them for him, I hated processing those beautiful birds. The hens are extremely good layers also.

    I use shelf liner in my NR 360 and my maticoopx 30, I have had good hatches in all of them. I would definitely replace the cardboard.

    It’s 49* this morning, highs in the 70’s today. We have cold snaps but they don’t last long, plus I have a good brooder if I can get some to hatch.
