I said earlier in the thread they are a dom gamefowl project, 5 generations in . Almost all babies did grow out with dom feathering. The one that didn't probably wasn't her egg if I had to guess, it is currently much smaller than the rest and solid black.
It stormed again here just a little bit ago, my plants were not happy. Some of my peppers look like umbrellas that have been blown open, leaning 45° lol
I'm more of a rancher/ homesteader than a backyard chicken keeper so I have different goals. It's not a problem when I loose a chicken or 2. I try to hatch as many as possible. I've got 2 incubators with 30 each right now, my hen hatched 9 today, had 6 hatch from one mom and 2 from another...
Very basic but thats how I like it. I have my land(15 acres) and then I am the caretaker for 40 acres owned by the church directly behind me plus I have vacant property next to me. Owned this property for 15 years and I didn't have any neighbors until this year. Debating a move now, they...
I've not bought new chickens in yearssss. I buy feed only in winter and still i use very sparingly. I have no coop. I have more eggs than I could ever use, nearly free of cost. Just depends on the route you take.
I had one of my broody girls hatch hers today! I was 2 and a half weeks off on her hatch date lol I had no idea she was broody until last Sunday 😅 9 chicks!
I bet they are cool little birds, definitely my style. I had miniature gamefowl for awhile and those were my favorite birds. My birds now are a mix of miniature American gamefowl and a bunch of different kinds of gamefowl. I like the smaller size but big attitude lol they survive really well...
Yw. I reread your question. To expand on my answer, some will most likely retain a certain level of gameness and the males will probably have to be kept from other males or they will fight it out more than other domestic chickens
oegb's mixed with hatch line American gamefowl? They will be good little foragers. Smart. Quick. On the smaller side. Really only good for eggs, bug control, and yard ornaments. They will be pretty.
I've had Norfolk pines before but my ex wife had a brown thumb lol it should be fine with bare roots for a few hours/ days if wrapped up and kept wet. Alot of plants/trees are shipped bare root, they are resilient
