Well.... Rusty is much improved this morning. He is up walking around and holding his head up. He even ate some feed on his own. Im going to keep him inside a few more days to watch him. I think his neck is still a little weak and his gait is not quite right. But he seems to be on the mend.
I honestly believe it is due to nutrition issues. We discovered a few days ago that they were not eating most of the feed and just picking through it for the bits they liked. We switched then back to starter feed to get them built back up. This guy is just having a difficult time.
I can get those instead. I can't get to the store until tomorrow morning so I'm working with what I have on hand.
This is a picture of him. I can get better ones when my hubby is on break. He works from home.
We got a little water with hydra hen in him and a bite of scrambled egg. I will go to TSC in the morning for some nutra drench or poultry cell for him.
I have a bird that is about 6 months old with wry neck. What can I offer him that might help? He is a bym. Weight seems normal. None of the other birds are showing any signs of illness. Started within the last 24 hours.
These are pictures of my cocerel Ozzy. He hatched early March. I posted about his ordeal after being traumatized by my dog.
He has turned into a beautiful, sweet bird
That's what i was afraid of. I have another bird that I desperately want to be female, but it's just not looking like it will happen. Its feathers and shape resemble one I am positive is male.
I have a 4 week old chick that is not eating and just sits or stands facing the wall of her tote. She was being picked on by her hatch mates as well.
I have her on a heating pad for warmth. Feed and a little sugar water to try to give some energy. It just won't hardly move.
Does anyone have...
