UPDATE: After a 5 day course of Corid and the first few days of Aqua Sol (today is the last day of treating the whole flock with that), and a about a dozen scrambled eggs 😂 our silkie is back with the flock and as mouthy as ever. Thanks for all the help. We don’t see enough happy endings in this...
Yes. She loves the cooked eggs, now we are concerned she is spoiled off regular food. 😂 Any recs on how to give the probiotics without tainting the wormer in the water?
I’m not real sure what else to really do. She just started sitting around and acting off balance. She is still eating her scrambled egg like crazy and seems alert and talkative. She is just off balance.
Thanks. I bought some aqua sol liquid and we started her on it tonight. She has had the Corid for about 5 days already so we are going to swap to the wormer now and hope. We are just going to worm the whole flock in case.
2 year old silkie hen started having some balance issues. Brought her inside, been giving eggs and Corid for a few days now. Not much better but this was in the cage with her. It is about the size of a fingernail. I hope this is the start of curing her…
She threw up quite a bit of stinky liquid that my wife said smelled like “kids barf”. We have brought her inside and are only offering water currently until we get more advice. She is doing fine, trying to eat pine shavings now. 😂

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Wellsummer, same as she has been.
2) What is the behavior, exactly. See video. Weird neck shimmy thing.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? A...
thanks. On the bright side there hasn’t been anymore signs of foul play since I made adjustments. I’m sure it came back, and found a different situation.
@Nabiki most of them have not laid since the attack. How long would you think this will last? I have 13 hens left and I’m averaging 4-6 eggs a day but was getting about a dozen prior to the attack (I lost 2 hens in the attack).
Built my first quail pen a couple months ago. Everything was going smooth until last night….they are on 1/2” hardware cloth. I put a piece of roofing tin immediately under them to catch the droppings but they kept kicking the sand around and filling it up quick so I lowered it…too much...
Thanks. No reason to waste what little Baytril I have on hand. I don’t have the Terramycin and like a lot of other people, we live a rural lifestyle with no chicken vets around. I did try in the past to get some help from the equine vets but they basically said no thanks even though I was only...
Thanks @FarmerGirl101 . Do you think there is any benefit to giving her some Baytril for the infection? I have that on hand if it will be of any benefit.
Thank you so much. She is out eating some scratch and mealworms now but doesn’t do anything fast. Hopefully since we are a week into it, we are at least nearing the peak of it.
@FarmerGirl101 update…we tried to open her eye and it was matted closed. We did get it open but it was all milky/cloudy looking today. I couldn’t get a pic of it because she did not like it at all.
Most of her time is just sitting. Her head being tucked only a little bit. I’ll check the eye, my wife will be home any minute, and I’ll report back. Thank you for your help!
The only indication I have that she is uncomfortable in any way is that she seems to be sitting some and tucking her head between her wings. I wouldn’t think anything of it if others were doing the same thing (they do sit sometimes since it’s hot) but the head tucking thing and the eye not...
