Okay I think this will be the last update (unless things get worse)
She still moving! Even more so now. She still hardly puts any pressure on her leg but that doesn't stop her from hobbling around and eating, she even managed to climb onto this haybale lol
Thank you all for the help! Im so...
UPDATE!
She's still moving along. Ive noticed she's able to stand up now for a bit longer and she's even preening herself. I really do hope she'll make a recovery, I feel so bad this happened to the poor girl. Get well soon Pookie
Gotcha, does this mean I should seperate her from the rest of the flock so I can give her the water? I have replaced the main water source in the coop with chicken elixir to make it accessible to her at all times, but i understand if this isnt enough.
Update! Thankfully she lived through the night. She is eating and drinking when it's offered to her and she seems a little motivated to move (to the best of her ability). I even saw her on a roosting bar. I tried to check for swelling in her upper thigh and couldn't really tell what was wrong...
She is eating and drinking a bit. I placed food and water in front of her and she was eating it, she just seems a little stressed and doesn't want to move alot. I wasn't able to check for swelling yet but I will in the morning since they are sleeping at the moment. Thank you for the reply
There was an accident and my dog got loose on the chickens, pinning one of them. There is no blood but there was bit of a tussle and now she's limping and stressed. Any tips on what to do. I dont think she broke anything but she might be sore.
Edit: She's able to kinda limp around and she seems...
Oop yeah lol sorry, sometimes the brown eggs have spots, sometimes they don't, but I still wanted to count them both. Im not sure how that works but oh well.
Sorry if this is dumb but I'm wondering if any educated chicken folks can tell me more about what breed my mutt chickens/Easter eggers are because when they were given to us we were only told they were Easter eggers.
Also I was wondering if anyone could take an educated guess at who lays what...
Good i was worried it was scales mites or something. Her neck isn't too bad per se, I just noticed some feathers were gone at the base. Shouldn't be rooster problem since we currently dont have one but theres a chance it was one of our more meaner hens who likes to oeck and mount (though ive...
Sorry for the late reply, here some images (they arnt the greatest but it was kinda hard taking one handed pictures while holding a chicken)
They are about almost a year now. All hens, no rooster. They act fine, run around, eat, drink, lay, are pretty feisty too. We give them layered feed and...
We have two Easter egger hens (mix of amaurcana, australorp, and possibly buff orpington) with a lot of fecal matter below their vent (not on). I think their feathers are catching it. Is this normal or something to worry about? Should I trim their butt feathers?
