    I hang all mine and never had one come apart, You do need to make sure you have it twisted in the slots tight. Setting it on the ground defeats the purpose, Hanging keeps them cleaner.     you can eat any eggs you collect and put in the fridge, fertile or not, they will not develop unless put in an incubator or sat on by a hen for a few days in a row. your safe :)

    yeah thats kind of normal, it will go away as they mature. the blacks on occasion have white wing tips or a feather here and there tipped in white, when they get their adult feathers it usually goes away. nothing to worry about.
