I have a couple French wheaten marans as well and they are nothing like this one. It’s definitely a wild-type, game bird with the long legs and long, skinny neck. Another poster identified it as a grey American Gamefowl. I looked up some other pics of that breed and they are spot on. Gratefully...
I think you’re right. I looked at some other picks of the breed and she definitely seems to be in that family. Are they mostly raised for meat or are their eggs any good?
Greetings. Love this site and have learned a ton from you already. We recently rescued one from a hawk. We’ve nursed her (hopefully) back to health. Can’t figure out the breed though. Seems like more of game bird. Neighbors down the street are raising chickens too but it doesn’t look any of theirs.
