Hi - new chicken daddy here.

Thanks - I’m really hoping someone can help identify this one. Really hoping we didn’t rescue a rooster since we can’t have roosters where we live.
Based on her color, I'd guess she is wheaten-based (or wild-type, but wheaton would be my best guess.) Both wheaten and wild-type are sexually dimorphic. The males would definitely be getting dark breast feathers in by now.

I have a couple French wheaten marans as well and they are nothing like this one. It’s definitely a wild-type, game bird with the long legs and long, skinny neck. Another poster identified it as a grey American Gamefowl. I looked up some other pics of that breed and they are spot on. Gratefully a pullet too!
