    I have a aracuna pullet that is almost 5 months old. Her beak is crossed and very long. I was wonder if I could trim her beak to make it easier for her to eat.

    As far as I know Skipper's eggs were hard shelled. I have 18 other chickens so it is hard to know. I did find the liquid on two hard shelled eggs before she died.

    I feed them layer pellets from the co-op. They also free range. I do give her raw oat meal as a treat. Would I need to buy special yogurt or just any kind? Thanks for the advice.

    Dirty Chicken Butts

    Why do some chickens have horrible nasty butts? It doesn't matter what you do. They stay nasty. Am I doing something wrong? Should I change their diet? Any advise would be helpful. Only about an 1/8Th of my chickens have nasty butts. It is still not ideal.

    UPDATE ON PRECIOUS. We now have five. Two were hatched this morning in the incubator. I just put them out with mom. Three left in the incubator. I will give them a few more hours.

    UPDATE ON THE PRECIOUS HATCH And now there are five . Two new chicks in the incubator this morning. Just put them with Mama. I will give the last three a few more hours. I never candled so I do not know what is going on inside.

    & counting We have one more chick. It hatched in the incubator late last night or early this morning. We took it out and set it by Precious and she is taking care of it. We hear peeps in the incubator. Keep your fingers crossed. We have 5 eggs still in the incubator.

    Just got the DDS to help me. I lifted her up and there are two, beautiful, fluffy chicks. Couldn't get a picture Precious went bazerk. Still several eggs to hatch, but we will just wait. Now we know they are cuddled up to mom staying warm. It is about 36 degrees here this morning. yippee!!!!!!

    I have the camera ready and my DDs and I are about to go crazy! I just wish I still heard peeping. There is an egg shell near mom. Does no peeping mean a dead chick? Oh my goodness at least you can see into the incubator.
