Well we have been continuing the search of our future hunting dog. And we have come across a new breed!
It is called a Pudelpointer.
We found a breeder within 30 miles of us. Went to his place today. OMG I'm glad we did. It absolutely is the dog for us!!!
We will no longer be getting a...
We really do like the breed. As mentioned we are going to look at another breeders dogs as well. Especially since they are so close to us. It would be silly for us to only see dogs from one breeder.
We haven't decided when to go over there, but I'm sure it will be within the next few weeks.
The male we get will be used as a hunting dog. IT was definitely have a job to do.
I'm surprised you say the males are stocky and short. Are they over weight? I haven't ever heard of that with this breed. Even from breeders.
That is one thing we do ask, because we do not like the body type...

We...
Actually the breeder doesn't have any puppies at this time. We are going to meet the adult dogs he has and watch them work. So we will be meeting the parents only this first trip.
If we like them, then we will go from there. He has 2 females, one is bred for a March litter, the other will be...
The griffons are the same size as our current dog. One of the breeders we spoke with has a dog like ours as well. So I'm not worried about the size.
As far as the coat, yes, I understand it will take some brushing and thinning out.
We were hoping to get over to the breeders today to look...
My husband and I are thinking of getting one for our next dog. We both like to hunt grouse, pheasant, and duck.
Please let me know your thoughts if you have one, or ever had one. And post pictures if you have them.
We want to learn what we can about the breed, and the internet seems to be...
Here is some pictures from my place. As first time chicken owners, my husband and I built a small coop, and run. Next spring we will be building a larger coop. The chickens will have alot more room inside the new one. We will build a coop that has more of a closed off space for them to roost and...
