    dead mole..?

I think moles are beautiful. They are the only mamal with non-directional fur...stroke it in any direction and it lays flat. I found a big, fat dead mole once and took it to a taxidermist who tanned the hide with fur on for me. Would like to make a stuffed mole dressed up like a gardener like...

Carpeted roost, anyone else do this?

If mites might be a problem, seems to me that one could sprinkle the carpet with DE, or change it regularly like once a week. If the carpet is just a scrap, those could be free. Coon got my chickens, so I won't be trying any carpets this winter...will wait until spring to try again. Cheers, Loudoun

Introducing Guinea Fowl into a Flock of Chickens

I don't know how to introduce Guineys, but I had 3 and 9 chickens, all the same age, grew up together, and altyhough the Guineys were hillarious, they went out of theor way (like 20 feet) to go pick on and chase and bully the chickens. Very tasty, in the end. I recommend that you read more...

Need an ear, and maybe some relationship advice.

Just re-read your posts...story didn't sound better w/more info! Have fun in CA, don't get married now...if he's the right man, he'll still be there once you get a little perspective. Staying w/someone out of fear or fear of hurting their feelings is not my idea of the best way to live. Have...

Need an ear, and maybe some relationship advice.

X3. Not compatible. Plus, you haven't even dated others (much, if at all). Suggest you first try being on your own (no dating, no seeing this guy except in groups), get yourself back together, get some friends, then try casually dating a number of men...not heavy dating, just getting to know...

Another chicken coop to review and or admire. (****New Pics Added****)

Beautiful! I have questions about construction - how far apart should the screws/washers be? What size screws/washers? Zinc or stainless or just regular? Here's a little drawing of my intended construction: 48" tall, 1/2" hw mesh with locust posts and 2"x4" bracing, bottom folded over...

Rooster is mounting the guineys! Anyone seen this?

I have a 5-month old Buff Orpington rooster Buttercup who has been raised with 3 guineys, 1 other rooster, and 8 pullets. The guineys are mean to the chickens, for the most part, but when I feed them treats and the guineys get in the way, Buttercup mounts a guiney and just hangs onto the neck...
