I have a pen with four peafowl in it. Two males that are both two years old (the white one doesn’t have much of a train, but the BS male does). A yearling male and a yearling female. To my surprise my yearling female has begun laying eggs this past week. I’ve not seen them breeding, but I...
They seemed quiet this morning... maybe it was a phase?
I know the rain yesterday didn't slow them down... They're so funny some times about getting wet, other times it seems like they don't care.
These are both very helpful.
Mine right now are making a call that sounds like a "meow" or "eow". Obviously a bit louder than a cat...
Just started heavy this week. Surprised me. Once in a while in the weeks past, but this week starting Sunday and everyday since has been "meow", "meow"...
Looking for some opinions on male peafowl calls, all relating to mating season.
Do you notice more or less calling at the beginning of the season, middle of season, end of season, or the same all season long?
Do you notice more or less calling at the beginning of the day, middle of the day...
You'd be missed, that's for sure. I read many posts and often don't respond (due to my lack of knowledge), but always find myself thinking... "deerman will be on shortly and he'll be able to help them."
I appreciate your help and guidance; it would be terrible to lose that. However, do what's...
I've read that the pumpkin seeds are a natural wormer as well.

So your older peas are '10 hatches and you have '11 hatches you want to add (if i'm understanding correctly)? I did this earlier this year. I had the younger one's in the winter coop and a screen so they could see the run with the older birds. When they were about 4 months old I opened it up...
When my older peas were young, they started picking the crests of each other (winter when indoors a lot). I did hang cat toys and such from their roosts for them to play with. Not sure that was the solution, but it didn't happen anymore.
Hope this helps,
Walter
I don't have a lot of experience with pheasant as I'm just getting started with them (I've just had peafowl).
A few questions I would start with:
Is he kept with other types of birds?
Do you worm your birds on any sort of schedule?
What color and consistancy is his droppings? yellow, white...
A few links I found to help (and seem reliable).
