    How cold does it get? Chickens do O.K. between 80 & 20 F without remedy. But I'll bet you have high humidity.     I'm looking out my window thinking about trying to get the roof on my coop, and it's started to snow.... AGAIN. Doesn't ammount to much but sure puts a damper on my attitude.

    Don't forget to cover the foam with some sort of hard surface, maybe just masonite. Chickens will peck away at the foam and may eat it.

    You can buy a "metal cut off blade" anywhere. they fit your skil saw. they have no teeth, create lots of sparks, especially around piles of dry sawdust. $6 last forever. hard to keep in line.     If you had a sawzall (or buy a $20 one @ harbor frt.) Cut most of the nails, pry it apart, stack it on a trailer, AND REMEMBER it's only a chicken coop.

    Cowboy mounted shooting I'm so glad ours are grown and gone. (We're going to use the chickens as surrogate kids.) No more motorcycles, fast cars, dislocated shoulders, etc. etc.

    Please pause for just one minute before you stain/ paint this wood that has so much character. Painted, it will always be just red or white or green boards. Left as is,(and treated with tung or teak oil) it will be "Cypress from my grandfathers mill" very nice indeed. you have reason to be proud.
