Thanks guys. I just started fermented feed and have been using an old galvanized trough, but definitely need something better. Think I will make an anchored covered trough with guards to keep the feet out.

Is there any where to order chicks that has a small minimum. I only need 5 chicks; Mypetchicken.com has a minimum of 5 but the chicks would be $22.00 and shiping $35.00. The shipping sounds high, is it? Does any one know where one can get a small order with less shipping.

I am thinking about rasing bantams in a catawba chicken ark; what bantams are good layers? I know bantams do not lay are well as standards but it would be nice to have some eggs.
