    Sick gosling!

Sorry to report that she didn't make it. The male made a full recovery and is fine. Not sure what she got into. We haven't used any pesticides or chemicals. All other geese are doing fine so hopefully it was an isolated incident. Thank you all for your input and advice.

    Sick gosling!

We have 5 baby geese about 2 months old. On Wednesday night I noticed 2 of them looked "drunk". They were stumbling around and away from the others. After some encouraging we got them all together. On Thursday morning, around 9:30 am, I went out to check and the female was on the ground not...

    Run away Geese3

We just bought some Toulouse Geese from a local guy. We put them in our enclosure with the goats and everything seemed to be fine. However, they found an opening and got out. The 2 females took off. It didn't help that the dogs thought it was a game of tag. The male got out but has not runaway...

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

Well since my last post we haven't found any more of the eggs. We have lost one of our females and the other one is cooped up and her egg was fine. I guess I'll have to settle with someone playing a prank, which is a whole other situation entirely. Thank you all for your input. Jeff

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

Not a prank by any of our family members. Not sure who would. Only explanation I got unanimously was that it was a prank. Now the mystery will be who is pulling said prank. Thanks for your help everyone, I appreciate all the help and comments

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

Quote: Thanks! At least that's one theory down. It keeps looking like it's a prank, but I just don't know who it would be. We just moved to the area 9 months ago and only know our neighbors a little, but they just seem to be not in the pranking mood. Other than my stepdaughters father nobody...

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

chickensducks&agoose : how about a bird with a fever? could the egg actually cook at a low temp for as long as it takes it to form? Might be possible. I'll have to check with vet on that. Only thing though is we've gotten about 18 eggs from the 2 and only 2 have been "cooked" Still a fever...

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

No tricks by anyone we know. I thought at first it was someone playing a joke, a good one too, but we haven't had anyone come out here in a few days. We live down a long drive way and don't have many neighbors so we ruled out any pranks.

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

They were not powdery at all. They looked like they just came out of a pot of water. It didn't smell bad or anything.

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

They have been HARD, hard boiled. Perfect for deviled eggs, IF I knew how they got that way. We seperated the pairs to see exactly which duck is laying these crazy eggs. If it does happen again I will be sure to post a picture of said egg.

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

I thought maybe one was in a tarp and maybe it got steamed. Too many maybes though, and it was about 15 feet from the tarp so it would be hard to believe it "steamed" in there and rolled out. The other was found in a ditch by the side of the house. Sorry no hot tubs lol

    Laying hard boiled eggs???

So I have a really weird question. First of all I'm not a troll, this is an honest question. My wife and I recently bought a couple ducks from a guy. We have one rouen female and one mallard female. Recently they started laying about 4 eggs a week. 2 of the eggs that we have collected have been...
