Leave her on her nest until they all hatch out. Give her two or three days after they start hatching to let the eggs all have ample time to hatch, as it can differ sometimes. Have her new digs ready to go and she'll be thrilled! You can put a low-sided feed dish in for the chick feed, and a...
Well, it's official. All my eggs were lost. I'm officially bummed out.
I've set 18 that I've gollected over the past 10 days in their place. Maybe I will have more even temps over the next three weeks.
Not looking good here...can't see any movement in any of my eggs...lots of just black blobs floating loose. Temp went to 104 one day and I don't know how long it was that high before I caught it. Of course, after opening the vents to let it cool down, I forgot to put them back in that night, and...
Sounds like a great deal. If I was a little heavier into raising/selling chicks, I could see myself spending that plus more for a quality incubator. It wouldn't take long to start turning a profit.

I'm doing better this time around. temp pretty steady at 101, humiditiy in the mid 50's. I doubled up a towel across the top of the incubator and it seems to help regulate the heat better. Be better able to tell how I'm doing when I candle them in a couple three more days.
It's a Hovabator. It's just wide enough to sit an 18 count and two 12 count cartons side-by-side front to back, with room for the hyrometer on one side. There's some room left for a small tray of water if I need to boost the humidity later. I can't find the camera at the present moment, but...
I'd think that a hen will come off her nest when she's hungry enough. You might have a fertility problem, as to the reason the eggs haven't been hatching out.

I took an 18 pack egg carton and two 1 dozen cartons and removed the top, then cut the bottoms out of each 'cradle' so the air would circulate somewhat. I actually have one extra egg laying loose as well, but to turn them, I can prop one side of one of the cartons on the inside lip of...
OK, this will be my second attempt at incubating eggs. 1st time out was a disaster, but I feel like I learned from it. Set 30 Black Aus and 13 Games today. I have them in egg cartons with the tops removed and the bottoms cut out of the "cradle" so it will circulate somewhat Plan on putting a...
The chick hatched an hour or so ago, but now it appears it's excreting the yolk and a little blood out it's backside. This can't be normal, can it? What can I do?
Set my first eggs on the 15th of march, and the 1st one hatched a few minutes ago. I have 11 left out of 44 that I started with, but I did a lot wrong. Hopefully, I'll get the other 10 to term OK, though! (Yeah, I'm already a proud two-headed Papa!)
