I've been incubating some eggs which hatched while I was at school today. One chick has stuff from the egg all over him and its dried onto him. What do I do? Get a Q-tip and wipe it off as best I can or something? Its all stuck to him and i'd appreciate some help!
My two bronze turkeys are housed with my chickens in a coop with these dimensions:
Length - 15ft x 4in
Width - 11ft x 3in
Height - 10ft
here are some pics of them:
well, with my roo I used popsicle sticks and medical wraps(the elasticy kind) and I kept it bound and changed the bandage weekly. Maybe you can try toothpicks?
They are pretty big, especially the male. But if you can get just a female or two, they are great in a not-so-big yard. I love the female's noises that she makes!
Yeah. We have Ponyboy, Twobit, Dally, and Sodapop
They are bobwhite quail and at only nine days old today, they have feathers on their wings and hop around trying to fly. This is my first hatch and I never expected them to grow as quickly as they do!
When we first got chickens, we kept them in the coop for a few weeks, then we let them free roam. At night they came back because they knew it was safe and there was food and water.
These are some of my beloved animals. Since everyone has been so kind to share pictures of their animals, i'll share pictures of mine with you!
My 1st quail, Goliath
Quail compared to a quarter at 5 days old
Dally - mix breed
My quarter horse, Lucky
My appendix quarter horse, Sugar...
The turkeys and chickens get along great. I have a male bronze turkey and a female that hang with the chickens and they all seem fine. The turkeys get the floor while the chickens get the roosts. We have four minority chickens lol. They all stay in a little group away from the others
Bonnie...
I just walked out to the coop to lock it for the night. I counted the chickens, and everything was normal. I checked the roosts and then I looked toward the nesting boxes and there was a rooster sleeping in it!! Cullen was sitting there, looking like a hen brooding! Has anyone else's rooster...
For roosting we have wooden sticks(the kind you buy. kinda like broom handles) and one is about eleven feet long and the other(for the minorities lol) is about four feet. We have six large nesting boxes also.
I'm not sure...where did you get the chicks from? I lost two of my bobwhite quail because they hatched late and the others bullied them so bad. Could it be the two older ones causing the major problem?
wow. I think i'll be heading to Red Barn feed and supply faster than I thought. I like my little mixed breeds though. I can't wait to see how my Barred rock x blue cochin chicks turn out! So I imagine I can get quite a few in my coop. This is good news!
Ha!...wait. Is there really a math forum?? I tried to average it, but I've never been good at math. I thout maybe somebody who has a similar property to mine might help.
