Yes, he seems normal and in good spirits. He eats, drinks, and pecks around. Just like a normal chicken. You wouldn't be able to know he was "sick" unless you felt it. Maybe I will just take him to the vet as well. I am worried it is something that needs urgent care.
Yes, I was reading your post too because it sounded familiar. The skin is pulled tight, but not extremely tight, I can move the skin around. It is the right thing to do, I woouldn't want to receive a sick bird. It's just really weird because the rest of my flock is healthy. I wonder if it is a...
Today when I took my black copper marans out of his cage, I felt a lump that almost feels like a crop would when it is full of food but it was way down his belly and far away from his crop so I know it's not his crop. It's almost squishy and I have a guy that is coming out today that would like...
• Is there anything else I should be doing for the faverolle?
-Keep doing what you are doing making sure she has water and food in her. I would also suggest giving her poly visol or electrolytes. I am actually thinking that maybe she didn't have a heat stroke and she is suffering from blood loss...
You could put electrolytes in his water and give him poly visol. These are two great vitamins. I don't know much about seizures, so I am sorry I cannot be more help to you. I wish you good luck.
If they were red, they sound like mites because they turn red after they drink blood. I would suggest the salt bath above, and seperate him because he is losing too much blood.
It almost looks like splayed legs. Does she ever try to stand, and when she trys she sticks her wings forward and wattles back and forth kicking her legs?
It sounds like they are free ranged, am I correct? If so, I would build the turkey a run built off from the coop and put some poultry or garden netting over the top so the turkey will stay in.
You shouldn't need to use it yet. When the chicks get a little older and go to their coop where there could possibly be lice, thats a good time. I would say atleast two months old. They are too young now and it wouldn't be good for their respritory systems.
Good luck, I hope they recover! Like I said, it could come back now and then. Many repritory diseases involve birds being carriers for life. To me it sounds like Infectious Bronchitis.
There is also a Tylan powder, it is also administered through the water. This is a more expensive product that is about $40-50. Denaguard is also a good product.
Yes, I suspected a respritory problem. Some are cureable and some just come and go. Check out this list to see if any match:
