Hey Everybody, Just stopping in to say hi. I've spent the last few months fighting off a very persistent bobcat. I finally got enough wire and enough electricity and everyone is safe. The eggs that I've hatched and the chicks that I got from Carla, have grown into beautiful hens and roosters...
I have too many roosters so I am selling these young (3 mos.), large and healthy roosters. I have Jersey Giants, blue, black and splash, Spitzhauben, and Salmon Faverolles, will consider trade for Standard blue cochin, Rhode Island Red or Barred Rock roosters.
I know you aren't supposed to but I helped my last one out. It had pipped and struggled 2 days, I could see it moving inside but the longer it tried the weaker it appeared. After it dried and rested I can't tell it from the rest of them. So it's doing fine.
Twenty-one strangers picked to live in a tub. Find out what happens when they stop being polite and start getting real...

Twenty-one chicks in twenty-one days.
The modern game chickens are very scary looking, a lot like dinosaurs. Leghorn roosters can be very mean. Every type of chicken I have are supposed to have good dispositions.
Hatch Day is over, and the final count was 21 from 30 original eggs. There were 15 Spitzhauben eggs and 15 Jersey Giant eggs originally. Head count this morning revealed 13 JG and 8 Spitzhaubens. I got my eggs from okcarla they were obviously very fertile eggs! I left my chicks in the bator til...
How many eggs do you have? I had to take my uncle for his chemo and radiation today, which is just as well. This morning at 5, I had 2 and by the time I got home there were 19!! I can't believe it, there are 4 more eggs left, one I know is bad and had meant to take out before day 18, one I can't...
It's only day 20 and look what I have! I can't believe it, I was expecting to see eggs, I was so shocked it kind of scared me when I saw it. But it's doing well.
We've got chickens in the house! This baby is early and it just about gave me a heart attack when I first saw it, I was expecting eggs. They aren't supposed to hatch till tomorrow. Thanks Carla for the great eggs!

I think I read somewhere that eagles prefer to eat fish, while hawks don't fish and would love any small animal. I have chickens for the 4th time in my life and have been a nervous wreck worrying about predators. We live close to a small town, but I have every type of varmint that would love to...
Good luck with your hatches! I am on day 18 and have taken the eggs from the turner, upped the humidity and closed the bator. This is my first hatch too, I have been so nervous, this has been driving me crazy. I started with 30 eggs and have 21 left that look good. So my fingers are crossed and...
My first experience with chickens was when I lived in Yucaipa, during 7th and 8th grade. I lived on Douglas. My dad bought me an assortment of bantams. I also lived in Corona during my senior year in high school. We only had horses there, which we kept at Desi Arnaz' ranch.
How do you tell the boys from the girls? Mine are about 5 weeks. I have black, blue, white and partridge. I ordered pullets, but you know how that goes.
