I almost had a heart attack!

(remember the fish gut truck incident a few months ago?).

That was so awful. I felt so bad for those eagles.

I think I read somewhere that eagles prefer to eat fish, while hawks don't fish and would love any small animal. I have chickens for the 4th time in my life and have been a nervous wreck worrying about predators. We live close to a small town, but I have every type of varmint that would love to eat my chicks, we have snakes, skunks, possums, coons, coyotes, foxes, hawks, crows, not to mention the dogs and cats we have and that come from town. I've been working on my coop, but am thinking it needs to be like Ft. Knox. I have eggs in the incubator too and have decided that I may be way too nervous to have chickens.

Oh my, that's too funny. We have hawks and eagles here daily. I could so see the same thoughts running through my head.

I just wish I could have taken up either Yukon Flats or the Berring Str. School districts on their offers. Then I could be worrying about eagles!
