Thank You,
I was thinking
Pullet,
Roo,
Roo,
Pullet
as the 2 i think are pullets the combs are smaller and lighter.
With the 2 pullets they came from are leghorns and they have large bright red combs now.
I trying to learn how to tell the difference between Roos and Hens Can anyone please help me the are Austrolorp x leghorn and are 7 and 8 weeks old.
I have attached photos of 4 chickens 2 white ones that i think maybe one hen one rooster and 2 greyish ones one hen and one rooster.
We use woody pet they are like a pellet and don't need to change as often as pine also not as much trouble with it getting into the water when thay play around, plus it reduces the smell. I swapped from pine as they still kept trying to eat it.
the little black one died this is really a bad batch.
Could it be if anither rooster got with the hen as we have a couple of roosters so could it be the other one has been getting to them. The roosters are Australorps and the hens are white leg horns.
With in the same day of the chickens hatching some are dying the white ones are good but it is just the black chicks we are having a problem with. The last one had a large lump on it's belly and could not walk it's feet were curled in. Another just died it seemed ok. One that has just hatched...
I don't think so haven't had a problem with any of the others that hatched at the same time, The temp has stayed about the same as the last lot that hatched.
Hope the rest will be okey
The marks on the second one's bill were there when we got them it looked like marking on it that should be there now it is starting to come off. Also this one had been starting to attack the roosters through the wire, but only when they crow during the day. So this may be why it markings/maybe...
The power went our and blew the globe.
What is the min and max watt glob i can use and does it have to be a red globe.
The little chicks are okey at the moment I had to move them to a warm room and they are snuggled up. Can I use a normal lamp in the mean time for a little bit of warmth?
I have my baby chicks in a old rabbit/guinea hutch I just turned it up and have no problems with the light in it. the temp is quite good. I did have a blanket on top where the wire is but they were getting a bit warm so now I don't put anything over the wire and they are happy
Hey Im from aus to Im in Western Australia just over an hour from the city sorta the country.
I'm fairly new with chickens to now have 15 cute little baby chicks
Here a some better photo's of the geese if anyone can tell the gender. They are not keen on having their photo's taken

Thank You, I will try get a better photo of them. Not sure the age but we must be lucky they are quite good, I can pat one of them and we can hand feed both.
