    Any other truly "lonely onlies"?

I completely agree, Northwind. Whether I need to unload some sadness or share something happy, I never have that sibling to turn to. I wish there was group for lonely onlies nearby so we can all find our surrogate siblings.

    Will this cause egg binding?

My ladies couldn't get to the nesting boxes today and after searching their pen, there was no sign of any eggs. I usually get 5-7 a day. If they couldn't get to their nest, will they become egg bound from holding it in? I'm really petrified right now that something horrible is going to happen...

    Any other truly "lonely onlies"?

Thanks for the replies! Sorry it took me so long to respond, it's been a busy week! I didn't think that all sibling relationships end up fantastic, but it's just so darn lonely being an only and going through this period in my life where all myfriends are having babies and their sisters are...

What happens is they couldn't get to their nests?

So my hair-brained daughter never opened the chicken door this morning. The chickens were let out, but were unable to get back into the coop until we went out to lock them up and realized they were locked out. Therefore, no one could get to the nesting boxes. We searched the pen and found no...

    Any other truly "lonely onlies"?

Has anyone else grown up an only child and now wish so badly you had a sibling? I've only had one lonely only friend in my whole life and she was my best friend for ages but she is gone (she moved away 12 years ago, and passed away last year). Oddly enough, most of my friends have twin sisters...

    who's doing their oen taxes?

I've done ours (1 income, filing jointly, 2 kids) for years and years. We make under the amount for the free e-filing. I think it's fun  But then again, ours are easypeasy.

Model with a 20 inch waist...

I think she looks ghastly. Like a deformed walking skeleton. I've heard all the excuses for anorexia. IMO, she falls into this category.

The wait is killing me! (College rant)

Thanks. I know I will do fine, it's just my perfectionism getting to me. Still waiting to hear back from UConn. It's been 5 weeks

    cps family placement

I second what everyone else said. I know here in CT when we stepped up to offer our home for my cousin's son, it took only about two weeks before he left foster care and moved in with us. They did a quick walk through of the house. Our main thing was the kiddo had to have a bedroom on the same...

    Who is your candidate?

Does that mean the politicians will all move up there and we will be left to fend for ourselves? Oh the horrors! /sarcasm

    Who is your candidate?

I agree with Matthew3590. If everyone who wanted to vote for Paul would vote for him, he would win. Saw this great rebuttal of the State of the Union by Peter Schiff: I love Peter Schiff. He's the man! (Except for his shameless promotion of his company towards the end of the clip )...

Input needed. How to know if being a vet is the right choice for you.

I volunteered for a vet for about 6 months until I realized it wasn't for me... why can I deal with people death, but not animal death? Call a local vet that deals with the animals you are interested in and ask if you can volunteer a few times a week or shadow for a week to get a better...

The wait is killing me! (College rant)

Thanks! I think there should be some sort of ranking feedback after all your documents are submitted so you can have a better idea of if you will get in. Even if it's something like "Very good chance" "It's a toss up" and "HAHAHA!! Nice try!" just so I have a general idea.

    Who is your candidate?

I'm surpised Gingrich has even made it this far. I mean, come on. The guy was hit with a $300k fine for ethical wrong doing in 1998. That's just what we need: someone who has ethical issues in not only his personal life, but also his professional.

The wait is killing me! (College rant)

I've been plugging away at pre-reqs and co-reqs for the nursing program at UConn. Originally I was planning on going to community college route to get my ADN, but since my kids are still little (6 and 9) I don't need to work right away, so I decided to go for my BSN. So now I have all but one...

    Who is your candidate?

I'm totally loving the interest in RP here! This one got a few of my middle class friends - http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2012/real_estate/1201/gallery.candidate-homes/index.html Funny how I know a few people who live in houses that cost more than RP's... maybe he knows how to live within...

Feeling like my family doesn't care about my life.

WOW! I could have written this 14 years ago! I know exactly how you feel. I never had a curfew. They wouldn't worry if I came home late or not at all. They didn't care if I was hanging out with 30 year old men when I was 17. Grades? Pfft. They didn't care if I even went to school. And I was...

Need Good Old Fashioned Rain Boots

I paid about $15 for a cute pair of pink with horses from TSC.... within 2 months of steady use they were cracked. Now they are semi-cute, pink with horses, and grey duct tape.

    Gun people question..

Didn't read all the responses, but: 1) Yay for second amendment rights! 2) Get a bunch of those speedy loads for the revolver and have them filled and ready to go. I'm ready to trade in one of my pistols for a nice S&W....
