OK, my question is, is there any way to run or scare them (the snakes) off or any thing I can put out. I lost one four week old bantam to a snake yesterday, and two more last night.
I’ve got a hen sitting on twelve eggs that should have attached Saturday and still no chicks. How long should I go before I give up hope, and should I find some baby chicks to put with her?
This is my first spring with chickens. I normally use Round Up but I'm thinking it might not be a good idea this year. My flock (only 15) free range. Is Round Up OK or is there something else I can use?

What should I use to mark the eggs of a setting hen so I will know which eggs were laid that day and which she is sitting on?

My girls are mixed breed bantams and just six months old. I am getting a few soft shelled eggs, maybe one or two a week. They free range and I feed them scratch grains. What do I need to give them to take care of this.
