She's 2 years and 2 months old... I haven't seen any mites. I have two age groups of hens, some just over a year old, others 2 years and 2 months. There doesn't appear to be much irritation, and I can see new feathers starting to come in.
Hi all,
One of my hens seems to be suffering from major feather loss. Is this molt or lice, or some type of disease? I love this bird, and really want to try and help her get better...
Thanks!
Hi all,
Recently, this morning actually, I noticed one of my chickens was suffering from feather loss on her tail... Is this just from pecking or is there an underlying cause? What can I do to help her!
My beloved Voldemort left this world yesterday... I have no idea how... Cancer? She lost all of the feathers on her backside, and there was stinky poop all around her vent. I can't believe this happened so quickly. I'm devastated...

So my totally sweet silkie hen is being bullied by my barred rock. But I have noticed that the other birds chime in as well. Right now I have my silkie seperated into a different area so that if she wants to get away she can, but I feel like she is really alone. I have heard about...
Urgg... Okay!!! I was kind of hoping for a rooster, so I guess that's good. It's just that now I'm questioning another one of my girls... Thanks though!!!
Even if your eggs are fertilized doesn't mean you can't eat them!!! As long as one of your hens doesn't incubate it, it's perfectly fine. It doesn't taste weird, and you won't be able to tell the difference.
THREE OR FOUR MONTHS!!!! I underestimated this!!!! I hope the set up I have will be alright for that long... And I don't know how long my dad wants to keep this weird contraption in his pride and joy!!!
Hi again! So as a somewhat newbie I have a few questions about mixing my two flocks...
We're planning to fence out an area in the main coop for the 5, 6-7 week olds to move into.
Are they old enough?
How long should I keep them in there?
SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!
