    Color of eggs changing?

I was getting green egg almost every day for a few month, then all of a sudden, they stopped. That was about a month ago, and I haven't gotten one since. I have a theory that green egg color may be tied into eating green grass or plants. My yard is almost all bermuda and has been very brown...

***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey, everyone! I have a beautiful Blue Andalusian Rooster, about 4 months old, that I would like to re-home. I live in NE Oklahoma, between Claremore and Pryor. I got some "straight run" chicks this fall at Atwoods, and it is looking like they might be ALL boys. His name is "Blue" and he is...

    Blue Andalusian?

I'm in denial about my Barred Rocks. I'm going to go ahead and keep believing that only one,or quite possibly none, is a rooster. I don't want them to be roosters... They're just big moochy babies right now, and I don't want to find new homes for them. That Andalusian rooster is beautiful!

    Blue Andalusian?

I was wondering about my Barred Rocks. They were supposed to be straight run, I got the three and then one of them got a red comb and wattles really early, compared to the other two. I felt safe saying one was a rooster. Now at about three months it's really hard to tell them apart. Is that...

    Green eggs?

I miss my green eggs! It's been weeks! I haven't lost any chickens, everyone seems healthy and happy! They're even laying as well as the ever have. It's a mystery, I tell you! That rooster BEAUTIFUL!!! I thought I had an Easter Egger Rooster, turns out he's a Blue Andalusian. I think...

    Green eggs?

I don't have any Easter Eggers, though. And I'm still wondering... Where did my green eggs go? I would blame the weather, but even my cranky Yokohama is still laying (or at least she was until she started molting, poor thing, a little late in the season for that.) I was pretty sure (through...

    Blue Andalusian?

Thanks for all your input! He has been pretty good, so far. I hope he stays mild-mannered. He's always been very regal acting, and seems to like my Barred Rock pullets well enough.

    Blue Andalusian?

His tail feathers look a little scrubby, but he's only a couple of months old.

    Blue Andalusian?

Is there any reason to think that my boy here is not a Blue Andalusian? He came straight out of the straight run Ameraucana tub of Ideal chicks at my local farm store?

    Green eggs?

For several months, on a regular basis, I was getting one beautiful green egg from one of my (almost) nine month old pullets. I'm not quite sure lays them. For the last two weeks, or so, they stopped. I am now getting all brown eggs. My question is, is it possible for for a hen to start...

Good food for thought. Thank you! I'm going to stock up on bedding materials and straw bales around the base of the coop to block the wind.

CHICKENS IN THE WINTER!!!!.......HEAT...or NO HEAT??????????

Can I ask a silly question? I live in NE Ok, where (mostly) the winters aren't too horrible. Last year (I didn't have chickens, yet), we had an extended cold snap that was WAY beyond the ordinary, got down to twenty below and stayed arctic cold for for a couple of days. My question is, would...

    Mystery Chicks

I saw some EE chicks recently that looked like that. It also looks very much like my Gold Penciled Hamburg when she was a baby.

    Belly button comb? Donut comb?

Sounds kind of like my Yokohama's comb... I have to look up what it's called.

***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Quote: It got foggy last night before I went to bed, and AFTER I had just finished watching AMC's "The Walking Dead." My husband works out of town, so it was just me and the kids. To top off the mood, the neighbor had just told me a few days ago that she had seen "something really long, and...

    Pooping on the porch!!!

My chickens' idea of free ranging is hanging out on the back porch all day. Luckily, their poo is fairly firm and can (mostly) be swept off with a broom.

Anybody else get a green Egg from a white Jersey Giant???

Thanks for all of the help, guys. I don't know why it feels so important to me to call my chickens by their "correct names." Here she is, in all her glory, "Patsy" (as in Cline, because she's "Crazy.") I'll take my green eggs however I can get 'em! (Preferably scrambled.)
