I have an 11 week old light brahma that I have suspected of being a roo for several weeks because of the bigger size and red comb and wattles. The "crow" started a couple of weeks ago. Was one time of what sounded like a child crying (scared me to death because I thought it was either mine or...
We started out with 3 chicks. One turned out to be a roo. They are now 9 weeks and have been in the coop for two weeks now. We are going to be getting 3 more pullets this weekend...around two weeks old. How do I go about introducing the new ones to the original two? Should I keep them in their...
I have a light brahma that is about a week younger than yours. Looks very similar! I've convinced myself he/she is a roo! Just waiting for the crowing to start! I'm still holding on to a ray of hope though that just because it is so much bigger and has a bright red comb and wattle that it could...

Interesting to see similar aged light brahmas. I am brand new so can't legitimately speculate for you, but am anxious to hear what others think of yours! Funny that you have the same play yard containment I used for mine!
I am interested in the same thing! Have a light and buff brahma that are completely different looking and make me think the light is a roo but the feather thing is the one area I am not so sure about.
I wish I could directly post pictures here instead of in a link. I guess once I have posted a few times, they will release restrictions! I am trying not to stress about whether it is a roo. My daughters were warned of the possibility and know we can't keep a rooster.
I wattle and comb don't...
Another newbie, loving our new chicks. Have two Brahma's and an Orpington. My question is whether the light Brahma is a cockerel because it has grown so much faster and has a larger wattle and comb than the other two. Can't post pics, but hoping this link will work...
