My first post was Friday. Saturday she was still acting poorly, so she got a couple more warm baths. Nothing was expelled, and after the second bath in the early afternoon, she walked around for a 'minute' and pecked half-heartedly at the grass before...
One of the girls isn't well today. Someone has been dropping rubber eggs off and on... I'm not sure if it's Lucy, but from the way she's standing this afternoon with her back kind of hunched, not eating or drinking, I'm afraid she's got one stuck. She was fine this morning.

3 of my 4 girls just started laying a week ago (only 4-1/2 months, wasn't expecting it yet!) The two who layed first seem to go about 9 - 9:30 in the morning, the third prefers afternoons (I'm not a morning person, either ).
I have to leave at 7AM tomorrow, and won't be home til well after...
cafarmgirl, I appreciate the advice! I should clarify, the coop is 36 inches by 32 inches... so 3 feet by just a little over 2-1/2 feet. If my math is correct, that leaves exactly 2 square feet per bird. I did read that 2 sq. feet is adequate for bantams, but this is a learn-as-I-go experience...
My brother-in-law, bless his heart, built a chicken tractor for me, for my 4 gals. The coop part is 2-1/2' x 3', but the only vents are a 3-1/5" x 4-1/2" screened triangle in the apex of the roof on both ends.
I'm thinking that's not nearly enough... is it? And should there be a way to close...
Hi there! I'm new here, but what I've been doing with my four 6-week-old chicks is using a cat carrier to move them in and out. (Just moved them out permanently to their new chicken tractor yesterday).
I herd them into a corner of their pen and block them with the carrier and the open carrier...
