The best tip I could give anyone for winter for ANY critter is to make sure your animals are well cared for and healthy. Unless you live in a very extreme climate, if your birds are healthy they will get through the winter just fine :)
I have a coop and several shelters only one of which can be locked. It is too small to lock all the animals in which include chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, cats and dogs. It is way too hot to keep them locked in during the heat of the day. Please understand that this setup has worked for us...
Thank you everyone for the support. I suppose I could sue but likely wouldn't get anything out of it and again would end up with no where to live. Ill keep building as fast as I can and hope I can keep enough alive to replenish my flock.

I can't disappear them to a shelter, it would be known instantly that I had done it. Relocation is not an option at this time. A charge hot enough to stop the dogs would most likely cause harm to my birds too, I also have small children.

Air guns were considered but id get charged with cruelty...my youngest child is six. Fencing is happening but both dogs are or will be large and welded wire isn't enough, I'm having to buy cattle panels and they are expensive.
There is no animal control here. Sheriff says shoot them but this individual is my landlord. I cannot risk losing my house. I'm looking for a temporary deterrant
My neighbors dogs keep coming to my house and have killed three young turkeys and two kittens in the last few days. The neighbor refuses to tie or pen their dogs. Ggranted my critters have not been penned either however, I have personally seen the dogs come into my yard and snatch my birds. I am...
