Our design was inspired by a couple of existing coop designs on this website. Aesthetics were important, so we gravitated towards the cute end of the scale as the coop would be in a visible part of our yard.

Well the sun finally made an appearance, so snapped a shot of our finished coop - the 'girls' seem to approve and are roosting up high in the rafters - love the poultry netting and recommend it for critter control - doesn't seem to bother the chicks but keeps the raccoons and our terrier at bay.

We named our 4 girls; my daughter named hers 'Blackberry', my son named his Rosie posie marabella (?) ; my wife named hers Truly Scrumptuous and I named mine Luna Lovegood. Of course our dog is named Muffin, so we had a precedent for off the wall bizarro names, but it makes it fun for the kids...
