Looking closely at my silkie chicks I notice that one of them has got 6 toes where the others have 5. would this be the rooster or an abnormality? soory for asking newbie questions as i said before i've not had silkies or chicks before

Just got 5 red silkies which are a couple of weeks old. I read how friendly they are but my chicks cower in a corner when you go to hold them. What is the best way to 'tame' them? Is it just lots and lots of holding or are there some tricks to it?
