Will chickens show when they're overheating?

It's 95 degrees today. I have seven mixed bantams, and six look fine, behaving just as they normally would. But my favorite fluffy Mille fleur is making a panting motion, so I've brought her inside in the AC (the spoiled thing). Will the other chickens let me know when they're in trouble?

    Eating bantam roosters?

I am, at this very moment, slaughtering my first chickens. I got a couple roosters in my straight run bantams that had to go. I had the idea in my head that I would be cooking them like a Cornish game hen, but now that I have one prepped it just doesn't look like it has any meat on it - it's...

    Has anyone tried chicken diapers?

I've sewn a few diapers for my girls and am pretty darn proud at how they turned out. My hens are less enthusiastic. Both have spent a good half an hour flailing pretty wildly trying to shake the garment. How long will it take for them to become adjusted? Anything else I should know about...

    Feeding Malaysian trumpet snails?

I understand chickens love eating your average garden snail. I happen to have an aquarium with a MTS overpopulation problem and wondered if my chickens could be part of the solution. Would they be able to eat the snails whole, or crunch up the shell? Is this too much of a choking hazard?

    Used carpet for disposable liner?

Hi! I have access to a lot of used carpet and thought about cutting pieces of it to fit the bottom of my chicken coop, then just rolling it up and disposing of it every week. Seems like an easy and cheap way to keep the place clean. Think I'll have any problems? Eric
