    DH and I have a 1999 Road King and we love it! He's been riding since he was 15. Even his sisters all ride. I'm too chicken so I'm on the back , its so relaxing some times I fall asleep. SSHHHH dont tell

    Woohooo!

    so today I got 6 guinea chicks at the feed store!!! They are sooo cute! I have always wanted some and now I have 6. I was supposed to be getting layer mash and a light for my momma duck and her 13 babies. oh well now I have 19 babies

    Got home from the feed store and SHOCK they gave me medicated feed!

    the only reason I don't feed medicated is because I have ducks and they eat soo much it will make them sick , otherwise medicated is preffered , I believe wild birds can be a source for the cocci so therefore it can be anywhere.

    coop close to house? on ground vs elevated?

    our coop is 100 ft from the house , close enough to get to easily but far enough so that they don't wake us up too early and smell too bad I have a 8 x 12 and it is elevated 18" off the ground , this keeps rodents from burrowing under it.And gives them additional shade for the summer.

    How do you avoid tracking chicken poo all through your house?

    well DH solved that problem , the man is a genius he took the handle off of a stiff broom, you know the really hard bristles . He drilled a hole in the head and screwed it to the deck upside down so when I get to the top of the deck stairs I brush my feet off on the broom head. Now the grandkids...
