Just wondering if anyone in NH would be selling fertile chicken eggs this Spring.
I live in Campton, NH and would travel to get them. I normally order day old chicks but want to try this with the grand children.
Thanks.

Hi,
I would like to hatch some chicken eggs this Spring, preferably in March. I live in Northern NH and would travel if need be. I was hoping to not have to buy from a hatchery.
I have ordered day old chicks in the past and all have done well. Just want to purchase the eggs from someone here in...
I purchased the square(ish) plastic indoor nest boxes from Fleming Outdoors. The girls are getting ready to lay. As I am a newbie to this...those boxes sure do look small now and the perch is thin and narrow. Will they actually go into that small of an area? Maybe my girls are fat ;-). I like...
My flock is 18 weeks old. I really didn't think that the roo would be so male yet. The hens haven't even started laying. So, is this the norm at this age? He is really lov'n the gals. Thanks....
This has probably been addressed but I'd like some input so I don't have to search...How do you feel about the homemade cookie tin water heater which you can set plastic or metal waterers on. Have any of you made one? I live in NH and it gets pretty darn cold up this way. Also, my husband is...
These are my three EE's...Scrambles; Bambi and Lord Buttercup(she ended up being a he) I hope to keep him and have fertile eggs for next Spring. They are only 18 weeks at the moment. Love the looks of the EE's and looking forward to the first eggs.
I have three EE's and 2 of them are due to start laying in a few weeks...can't wait to see the color of the eggs :-)
The other is a Roo. I would like to in the future hatch some EE's.
Question since this is all new to me.
I see most of you saying that to tell a roo it is due to the red/orange...
I bought a 50# bag of Nutrena*Country Feeds* meal by accident. I am new to this and went in to buy Layer16 crumbles.
I wanted crumbles because the flock was on the starter/grower crumbles and wanted to transition to pellets on the next bag of Layer16.
So, should I just forget about this bag...
At what age can I start to feed a mix of BOSS with cracked corn and oats as a scratch feed. Also, is it the hulled seed or with shells(BOSS).
Thanks. New to this.
My chicks are now 10 weeks and I have been feeding chick starter by Manna Pro. I know it is expensive but it is what I wanted and a quality I liked. I just found out that they don't have a starter/ grower. I don't know what would be a good next step. I think of Purena as a dog food that I...
Enjoyed my time also. Thank you to all for the information that I came back with. I was tempted to buy one more but...maybe that is why my husband wanted to travel on the motorcycle ;-). He knows me....
Looking forward to tomorrow and talking to chicken people.
My first 9 assorted chicks are now going on 8 weeks. My DH is getting into it now. I am glad that the girls and maybe 2 guys like him too since he made them a great coop and run. He sits with his evening drink on the lawn talking to...
Would you do this in an enclosed area?
Are you afraid that they would all scatter and have a hard time catching them?
I came online to ask this same question.
Mine will be 2 weeks Monday and the temp will be about 80 today.
Just my luck they would hear a noise that would scare them and then...
I am new to chickens as some of you know. My 9 chicks are now 10 days old and a lot of enjoyment. I've been going to the swaps and talking to people and learning a thing or two.
I would like to plan on coming to this Chickenstock. Sounds like a lot of fun.
I LOVE to look at all the birds and...
Building our coop and just bought the 1/4in hardwood plywood for the inside. I'd like some input as to what to use for the inside...paint or stain to protect the plywood and be healthy for the chickens. Thanks. Oh, and we live in NH so we have ALL kinds of weather...meaning: cold, heat, humidity.
