Hi All !! I'm from Schuylkill County, I have a small flock of 10 birds,9 hens of mixed breeds.Have had over 50 at one time ,but no-more.Nice to meet my Pa neighbors!

I was wondering if any of my really smart chicken raising bothers and sisters would know a neat trick on getting new eggs to peel when hard boiled.I think that older eggs will peel easy but how about fresh ones.??
Though most readers on this forum are stricktly into hens,I like the beauty of roosters and would like to keep more, but I have trouble keeping them from fighting with each other when enclosed in a coop.There are too many predaters around my rural home and they like chickens too, so cant free...
I would keep a light on them,but not too close.Give them enough room to move away if they need to.It would be a good idea to have some type of air circulation in the room if possible ,maybe a fan but not directly on them,only enought to keep the air circulation going.If they are drinking water...
Just thought I would post this item I thought very interesting.I had a hen that sat on 1 egg this past early summer and was successful in hatching it.I went to my enclosed coop and run area and noticed one baby huddled next to mama.The rest of my flock including my adult rooster did not mess...
