    chic lost eye :-(

    Thanks everyone, the chick is doing fine. he/she has the eye, just not sure if it can see. It was filled with blood and was twice the size it should have been, then it drained and the eye scabbed over a little, the eye looks smaller than normal now, but it is doing fine. Thanks again. Loise

    Hi, I have a 1 day old chic that has lost an eye. Mom is sitting and this is the first to hatch, found it with blood and a blood filled eye and blood in it;s mouth. It is drinking and seems fine otherwise. It is in the house by the way.. it is now closed up and I am not sure how to treat it...

    Thanks, I did not know what else to do. I do now, thanks to all the other advise from memberss. Yuck on the skunk, have not had one around here is over 6 years, thanks to an old Aussie that we used to have, he took care of ALL the neighbor hood skunks, and boy, did he smell like it.

    yes, it is Epiphysitis, she was getting a 14% all purpose pellet, but my son was giving a full scoop, not 1/2 a scoop, was just way to much protein. I also should have been more clear as to what was wrong. It will take a few months to get her back to normal. Thanks Lois
