Oh sweetie, I know how you feel. However, you will be grown up someday and able to make all of your own decisions. You can have the biggest ranch with beautiful horses and paint pictures of them and do what ever you want.........and it will be all the more wonderful because you had to work and...
Healthy, 10 months old and just starting to crow. Local pick up only here in Milwaukie Oregon. He is a black and white cuckoo maran and very gentle with the ladies if you know what I mean. He doesn't pull feathers or anything. Call 503 998-1778 or [email protected]
We can't have roosters since we live in a suburb. Could have sworn Ramona was a girl! She/He is hen feathered but has started crowing like crazy. He needs a new home STAT. Black and White Maran, healthy and really gentle. The hens totally dominate him, which is one reason why I swore it was a...
You know she had stopped laying a few weeks ago and was very fat, even for a hen. Perhaps she was egg bound. She wasn't as active as the other hens normally so I just thought is was her nature to be kind of fat and lazy.
So my hen named Seagull was up this morning, acted normal and when I came home she was dead and stiff under the porch. No sign of struggle, no blood or wounds. What could have happened? The rest of the flock and his been acting normal and everyone seems fine. It is the strangest thing.
Well I just got a shipment of eggs and slipped then under my other broody hen, Bones. My first broody is a happy and proud momma so I am hoping this hatch goes as well! Due date is November 28th!
I won YAY! I was just sitting here looking at the pictures and telling my husband how I wasn't going to bid. Then he looked over my shoulder, saw the silkies and shouted "bid honey!". It all happened so fast!!
Sometimes you can get a sypathetic counselor or therapist, even a medical doctor to write a note that says "so an so, or so and so's child, has social anxiety, panic disorder, repressed memories or what have. These animals are care animals and support her well being.........

I am just charging up the camera now!! Pics to come soon. It looks like the RIR and Leghorns hatched but no Turken eggs. They may still, I hope so because I have heard they are a very sweet breed. I am going to run out and get some chick feed and a water bottle and take pics when I get...
OK I couldn't resist. I went and lifted her off and looked. 8 little perfect chicks!! They all look perfect!! Hooray. 4 more may hatch..
I grew up in Oakland, I have never seen anything like this. I am just stunned!

In a pinch you could always use those little hand warmers they sell every where. I buy them and stick in my winter coats. They get warm when exposed to air and last for five to six hours. I may keep some extra on hand in case we get a really cold night.
I would name him -
Chicken if he is a scaredy pig
Chorizo - if he seems spicy
Diablo - if he is bad or evil in any way
Trout - since he is kinda of speckled
or
Felix - if he is a happy porker.
