Once more what kind of wire are you using to keep out pests? I suggest going to half inch hardware cloth, don't forget .... snakes can crawl up wire.

Well i went out at 915 last night and found another rat snake. It took off twards the woods and i was right behind it running and shooting. Glad my .22 hold 18 bullets because i used 15 of them before i killed it lol
Bad news is... even after ive killed this one, i still had 3 eggs missing...

This is a cage i made out of a old chemical bucket. I took the bucket out and used the braces to hold it in as a little roost. I removed one of the solid pieces off the side and cut the brace for a door. Good to keep little one safe near the house at night.

Hello all, i have had a serious problem with snakes this year. I have lost close to 100 eggs in the past 3 months. I went about a hour after dark about a month ago and killed a 5ft+ rat snake. Thought he was a copperhead in the dark... Then i seen a water moccasin about 6ft from the coop around...
